How did you get your start as a comedian? I read books about stand-up comedy for years. I decided that before I turned 40, I wanted to get on stage at least once and do stand-up.

What was your first gig? I did a showcase at The Comedy Store as part of a workshop. It felt scary and awkward for the first few seconds, then I got a few laughs. After that I couldn't think of anything else but getting back on stage.

What is your most memorable moment? My most memorable moment was getting almost a 30 second laugh/applause break. It took every bit of will power I had to just stand there and shut up.

What is your reason for doing comedy? I think its a weird mixture of selfish and unselfishness. I get a tremendous feeling of joy and power making people laugh. At the same time the people laughing are experiencing joy.
